By downloading or using Stargaze Tonight (the “App”) you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. The App is free and ad-supported
The App is provided free of charge. It is funded by advertising served through Google AdMob. There is no subscription, no in-app purchase, and no feature is locked behind payment.
Rewarded ads are optional and only extend the observing forecast beyond three days, or add a fourth and fifth saved observing site. Today, tomorrow and the day after are always available without watching anything.
2. Licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App on devices you own or control, in accordance with the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. You may not reverse engineer, decompile, resell, or redistribute the App except as permitted by applicable law.
3. Astronomical information is for planning only
The App computes sunrise, sunset, twilight, moon phases, rise and set times, planet visibility and observing-condition scores from published astronomical algorithms, and combines them with a third-party weather forecast.
These figures are estimates for observation planning. They are not certified ephemerides and must not be relied upon for navigation, aviation, maritime use, surveying, timekeeping, legal or religious observance, or any purpose where an error could cause harm or loss.
Weather forecasts in particular are inherently uncertain. A “Good” verdict is not a promise of a clear sky, and a “Poor” verdict is not a guarantee of clouds.
Going outdoors at night carries its own risks — terrain, weather, wildlife, traffic and trespass among them. You are responsible for your own safety and for complying with local access rules at any site you visit. We accept no liability for anything that happens on an outing planned with the App.
4. Availability and changes
We may change, suspend or discontinue the App or any of its features at any time. Features that depend on third-party services (weather data, advertising) may stop working if those services change or become unavailable.
5. Disclaimer of warranties and limitation of liability
The App is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the App is limited to the amount you paid for it — which, the App being free, is zero. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
6. Third-party services
The App uses Google AdMob for advertising and Apple WeatherKit for weather data. Your use of the App is also subject to those providers’ terms. See the Privacy Policy for what is shared with them.
7. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of Korea. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer-law provisions of your country of residence.
